Regional Conference on Safe Social Media Behavior for Children

About the Event

With children spending more time online than ever before, the risks of cyberbullying, online exploitation, and unsafe digital behavior continue to grow. While digital platforms offer educational and social opportunities, many young users remain unprepared to navigate the dangers of the online world safely.

This People-to-People (P2P) event, organised by the Education Empowerment Initiative (EEI) with support from the EU TACSO 3 project, brings together students, parents, teachers, civil society actors, and public institutions from across the Western Balkans to promote safer online environments for children.

Taking place in Pristina, the Regional Conference on Safe Social Media Behavior for Children offers a dynamic mix of panel discussions, workshops, and interactive sessions to develop practical tools, strategies, and partnerships for improving digital safety among young users.

Event Objectives

The event will:

  • Raise awareness about online risks and promote protective behaviours among children and their guardians.

  • Strengthen regional collaboration on child safety in the digital space, engaging key actors from education, media, law enforcement, civil society, and the private sector.

  • Provide hands-on workshops and tools for students, parents, and teachers to improve online behaviour and safety.

  • Amplify children’s voices by creating space for them to share their views, experiences, and ideas for safer digital spaces.

  • Generate recommendations for future actions and policy improvements related to children’s digital well-being in the Western Balkans.

Target Participants

The conference will gather a diverse group of regional stakeholders, including:

  • 5th and 6th grade students from Kosovo and neighbouring countries, sharing their perspectives on social media.
